Women, people ages 40 to 60, and adults with higher levels of education and income tend to use complementary and alternative therapies frequently. There have been considerable increases in the number of people using common forms of complementary and alternative medicine, such as herbal therapy, massage therapy, energy medicine and more.

NES offers an excellent certification program that consists of eBooks and other e-materials. This program is designed to be self-paced and to be completed via distance learning.
